Well told stories can change women鈥檚 lives. That鈥檚 the thought behind 鈥檚 reporting contest, which aims to change the lives of African women through good reporting.

ImpactAFRICA, the continent鈥檚 largest fund for data-driven investigative storytelling, hopes will shed light on gender equality and the challenges women and girls face in accessing health care.

The contest is open to journalists in South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria who have published or broadcast stories on women鈥檚 health between November 15, 2016 and March 15, 2017. The top entries in three categories will win a fully paid study tour to major United States newsrooms.

But good reporting isn鈥檛 the only criteria. An independent international jury will also consider whether the submissions showcase solutions and offer evidence that the reportage has had a positive impact on policies or services.

ImpactAfrica is underwritten by and the and is part of efforts to help African media prepare for a more digital future.

More on the contest can be found .
